AI = More Expensive Phones. Do This Instead.

GD Tech Nerds.

Every big tech firm is now all-in on AI, whether you want it or not. And to make matters worse, they're sticking you with the bill.

From the end of this year, the price of phones will increase massively. The reason? AI companies are gobbling up all the DRAM, driving up demand which, in turn, pushes up prices.

Even Apple is feeling the pinch, confirming its new Pro and Pro Max models will be at least $200 more expensive. Google and Samsung will likely follow suit.

If you don't want to bother with all that nonsense, here's a hack you can take to the bank: buy a slightly older, refurbished flagship and, guess what happens?

You skip the inflation, you skip the DRAM price increases, but you still get access to all those juicy, new AI features.

I recently finished testing a Galaxy S24 Ultra. I haven't used a Samsung phone in a minute, and the Galaxy AI features were super-impressive. I still think Google's implementation is better, more useful.

But damn, Samsung knows what it's doing in this wheelhouse. Very cool stuff, indeed.

Here's the current cheapest (and best) options for getting Galaxy AI for way less than buying new.

Peace.

GD Tech Nerds. Today, we’re looking at Google dropping fresh Android features, Samsung patching a massive security hole, and Apple breaking its own rules on cloud processing. But first, let’s talk about something that actually makes your life easier. The Tech Lords love it when you spend $1,200 on a shiny new glass slab every twelve months. We don’t. Buying refurbished is the ultimate cheat code to get flagship hardware without eating instant ramen for a month. The problem? Comparing refurb...

GD Tech Nerds. Let’s talk about iPads. I’ll be honest: I don't personally carry one. But I know your sofa is currently being held hostage by one, or your kids are using a cracked Air 2 as a glorified Frisbee. Whether it's for work, mobile gaming, or keeping the peace in the backseat, there is one golden rule you should live by: Never pay full price for a new iPad. Why? It’s simple: iPads aren’t built like phones. A three-year-old iPhone starts to feel its age, but a three-year-old iPad is...

GD Tech Nerds. A Pro Max model iPhone from Apple is hella expensive. You're looking at $1200 for the base model option. And for a lot of people right now, that's just too damn much. But $500? That's doable. It's actually downright reasonable. Case in point: the iPhone 15 Pro Max now comes in around the $500 mark and it is still a BEAST of a phone. The only caveat? You don't get the latest model and the phone is refurbished. But you save close to $800 versus buying new. Also, and this is key:...
